We’re excited to launch FARM-NC, an EPA-funded research project building a framework for Whole-Farm Natural Capital Accounting, co-developed with farmers, for farmers.
Our Aim
To support sustainable farming by mapping, measuring, and valuing the natural capital of Irish farms from carbon and water to biodiversity and resilience.
Key Objectives
- Boost environmental outcomes
- Support climate resilience
- Inform national policy with real-world data
Collaboration & Leadership
FARM-NC brings together hydrology, ecology, remote sensing, economics, and systems modelling to build tools that are both scientifically rigorous and practically useful.
Led by Dr. Jimmy O'Keeffe at DCU, our team includes researchers from DCU and Trinity College Dublin, each bringing cross-disciplinary expertise in flood risk, ecosystem services, and sustainable land use.
Stay Tuned
Follow along as we explore the future of farming through the lens of natural capital.
